When Kai Chen was 9 years old

Originally as a small model, Kai transfered the lighthouse into this painting to make it appear realistic. He added a sky in the background and water around the island. He used his technique of drawing the ocean crashing against the shore by spreading a brush's tuft so that each strand of the tuft makes its own line on the paper.
