Watercolor painting by
Chris Harrington

Chris Harrington's watercolor learning experience:
The first full color painting I choose to do was a portrait of “The Predator” from said movie. For the sake of minimalism (out of habit), I had only used a few colors to distinguish the creature from the tree and the background. It proved to be a bit of a challenge trying to bring out the details of the predator, while making sure it didn’t blend in with the background and become unfocused with the darker details of the tree. The most frustrating part was adjusting the head to change the direction it was looking, while keeping the head proportionate.
