Cristina Gibau's watercolor learning experience:
What I’ve learn so far in the middle of the semester that was quite help full when painting a watercolor painting was, learning how to darken and lighten colors. I was not aware of the technique; I would just use darker or lighter tones of the color. I learn in order to get a lighter and darken tone of the color is all based on the amount of water used when painting. To get a light tone for example pink, you start out with red and dilute the color with water to get a lighter shade of red which is pink. To get a darker color you use less water as possible to leave the color strong and more powerful tone of color. Also in the middle of the semester I learn how to be freer and relax while painting with water color. Watercolor is relaxing in my opinion b/c involves water and water is soothing.
