Children's book Miz Fannie Mae's Fine New Easter Hat illustrated by Yong Chen

Mama carried the hat home carefully, the mother bird flying alongside of her, and all the ladies from our church, trooping behind like they were on their way to Galilee. Yong Chen watercolor illustratioon for children's book

Children's picture book watercolor illustration for
Miz Fannie Mae's Fine New Easter Hat

This watercolor painting as the illustration for Miz Fannie Mae's Fine New Easter Hat, a children's picture book written by Melissa Milich, published by Little, Brown and Company in 1997.

In this story there was a loving father, mother, a girl and her brothers and sisters, a beautiful easter hat with flowers and four bird eggs.

Doves fly all through the Old Testament, but this was the first starling that made an appearance in church. Mama said it reminded her kind of like the true meaning of Easter, because it's a time for believing in miracles.
